Squad Personality & Team Culture
“Determined, Fun and Enthusiastic”
What makes this squad unique?
The skaters in our squad all started skating at different ages but they blend together exceptionally well and all get on brilliantly. We have developed some wonderful friendships within our team. We love trying out different tricks on ice, especially cool moves like death spirals and lifts.
Favourite memory or highlight of the season so far
We are really looking forward to the upcoming 25/26 season and learning our new programme which we can’t wait to showcase in a couple of months. We loved our 24/25 season programme and have lots of fabulous memories, including competing in Dresden, Germany, retaining gold at the British Championships and winning gold in all UK competitions we entered during the season.
Behind the Scenes
Typical training week (days/hours)
We usually train on Wednesday evenings, with a ballet and off ice session. Our ice sessions can take place at different times of the week or weekends. We often need to have an early night on Thursday nights, as we often train early on a Friday morning, starting on the ice at 5am!
Off-ice training activities (strength, dance, etc.)
We do a combination of different training activities off-ice, including stretching, conditioning, strength training and choreography. We also do ballet once a week to help us with our flexibility and posture.
How do you prepare for competitions?
We have lots of fun in the changing room and always play music to pump us up! We love a group huddle and pep talk from our coaches before we get on the ice ๐
Shout-Outs & Sponsors
We would like to thank our entire coaching team, the volunteers, parents and all the people behind the scenes who work tirelessly to ensure that we are able to continue doing what we love. Also, a thank you to any previous sponsors for aiding us financially, especially on our routes to the World Championships.
Meet our Manager
We are so grateful to our parents and family for all their support, during training sessions all year round and for competitions, especially for early morning sessions! We are also really happy to be supported by our managers who volunteer and other parents who give up their time to support our team.
We have two managers,
Eleanor
(Lucy’s Mum) and
Julia
(Eliza’s Mum), who support and organise us.
