Squad Personality & Team Culture
“Lively, Enthusiastic and Fun”
What makes this squad unique?
We are the best of friends both on and off the ice and always strive to do our best, improving our scores at each competition. We are a great mix of individual personalities but come together to make the most amazing united team.
Highlight of the season so far?
“We loved ending the season performing the cars programme for the last time to a sell-out crowd at the Nottingham Panthers game.”
“The whole club doing a conga while singing ‘Life is a Highway’ from our cars programme at the end of season party - it just summed up the whole season”
“When we pranked our coaches by all falling over on the ice at the same time!”
“When we got over 50 points and we were all screaming!”
Team traditions or rituals?
We always choose a “changing room song” to play while we’re getting ready for a competition, have a team talk from our amazing coaches and huddle in a circle to build ourselves up before going onto the ice.
Behind the Scenes
Typical training week (days/hours)
We usually train on the ice for 1-2 hours per week. This can vary each week and increases around competition times. We regularly train early on Sunday mornings and have got used to waking up at 4am!!
Off-ice training activities (strength, dance, etc.)
We typically train off ice for at least 1 hour per week, a ballet class for 1 hour per week and a weekly flexibility session on zoom.
How do you prepare for competitions?
Practise, practise, practise!!! We love to perfect every element of our programme and spend a lot of time both on and off ice trying new things and practising with our coaches. We love to perform whenever we get the chance and you can often find us practising our routines during practice ice or creating videos for social media.
Shout-Outs & Sponsors
We would like to thank our entire coaching team, the volunteers, parents and all the people behind the scenes who work tirelessly to ensure that we are able to continue doing what we love. Also, a thank you to any previous sponsors for aiding us financially, especially on our routes to the World Championships.
